In 2020, the holidays as usual just couldn’t happen. Families weren’t traveling, and gift giving was scaled back. But Xfinity, having played a vital role in connecting people all year, wanted to show that presence, not presents, is the greatest gift of all. We built a virtual gift shop filled with items that would help to bring friends and families together, whether in the same house or across the country.

We used the Pinterest interface to create a holistic experience that gives the appearance of store shelves, each a clickable pin that leads to various togetherness activities, from Blanket Fort Blueprints to Holiday Leftovers Recipes to Holiday-Themed Game Nights, with suggestions and materials for playing games with the whole family over Zoom.

I led a group of creators across design, illustration, and photography as well as directed the creation of video assets. In the end, we were able to serve content that followed Pinterest’s holiday search trends, delivering holiday inspiration in a one-stop shop via videos, GIFs, carousels and downloadable pdfs.
